Facebook Facial Recognition Feature Can Be Used to Find Missing People

The facial recognition feature of Facebook could be used to find missing persons. Missing Persons Action Network (MPAN), an Australian organisation, has launched a campaign called Invisible Friends to locate missing persons. MPAN has asked people to share profiles of missing individuals as friends in the social platform.

The new tool will automatically tag people in photos even if they are in the background. The users will get a notification and asked to be tagged in it. Most importantly, the technology is free for everyone.
