Google to Mark Non-HTTPS Websites as Not Secure from July 2018

With the launch of Chrome 68, Google will mark website with no HTTPS as not secure from July 2018. The company has been urging the webmasters to migrate their websites to HTTPS for over a year now.

Google has hinted ranking boost for HTTPS sites and released major information regarding it:

  • Over 68% of Chrome traffic coming from Android and Windows are protected.
  • Over 78% of Chrome traffic on Chrome OS and Mac is protected
  • 81 of top 100 websites use HTTPS by default

Hence, it is the right time for companies to migrate their website to HTTPS now.
