Study: Shopping Ads Account for 60% Clicks on Google, 33% on Bings in Q1 of 2018

Merkle, a digital marketing agency, has found that shopping campaigns dominated the advertisers paid search click volume in the Q1 of 2018. The report shows shopping ads accounted for 60% of clicks on Google and 33% on Bing.

The overall performance and cost per click (CPC) growth remained steady from Q4 2017, growing 13% year after year. Google shopping spend grown by 40% year over year, highest in the last two years. It further stated that shopping ad impressions increased 47%, and non-brand CPCs on product listing ads increased by 15%.
